Join the National Effort to Dispose of Unused Medications or Prescriptions Safely

Lee’s Summit CARES and the Lee’s Summit Police Department combined with local partners and volunteers to participate in this national initiative. This service is open to all Lee’s Summit residents.

In April and October every year, a Saturday is selected by the DEA to be Drug Take Back Day.

It gives everyone an opportunity to safely, conveniently, and responsibly way to dispose of any unused medication. Prescription and over-the-counter medication are accepted. Yes, even pet medication is allowed.

Lee’s Summit CARES wishes to thank First Call KC for sponsoring these events throughout Kansas City.

NCOA created this guide, How to Manage Unused Medical Supplies, that addresses how to handle these meds and supplies without letting them go to waste.
