Scott received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washburn University in Topeka, KS and attended Kansas University when working toward his graduate degree. Scott works for Alcatel-Lucent in sales of Contact Center software and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) platforms.
Scott and his wife of 28 years, Denise McCarter, have five children (three boys and two girls). They have lived in Lee's Summit since 2005. Over a 13 year period, Scott enjoyed volunteering as a youth sports coach with his three sons and one of his daughters coaching basketball, football, soccer and baseball. Scott also served for seven years at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation as a Chaplain watching all three of his boys attain the rank of Eagle Scout.
Scott is a member of the Lee's Summit PTA and serves as the Lee's Summit PTA liaison on the Lee's Summit Cares board. For the past eight years, Scott has also served on the board of Raytown Emergency Assistance Program (REAP) and helps with various REAP events where over 300 families receive assistance in the form of food, supplies, or utility assistance each month.
