Committees
Lee’s Summit CARES is pleased to have two committees comprised of community members who plan, develop, and help to execute activities in two areas of our work.
Character Council
PURPOSE:
To develop and promote the annual Mayor’s Character Breakfast.
The Mayor’s Character Breakfast will be taking place on January 16 from 8:00am to 9:30am.
THEIR WORK INCLUDES:
- Evaluating and reviewing the 12 character nominees annually
- Identifying the Keynote Speaker
- Setting the general tone and theme for the Breakfast
- Identifying sponsors for the Breakfast
COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULE:
Character Council meetings take place at Security Bank, 210 SW Main Street, Lee’s Summit, MO on the following dates:
- August 22: 9:00am – 10:00am
- September 26: 9:00am – 10:00am
- October 24: 9:00am – 10:00am
- November 21: 9:00am – 10:00am
- December 12: 9:00am – 10:00am
PPRB (Partnership to Prevent Risky Behavior)
PURPOSE:
The membership in this committee is Lee’s Summit CARES Coalition Members. This committee works to identify the issues in Lee’s Summit that affect Youth and Families.
THEIR WORK INCLUDES:
- Addressing broad issues within the community
- Employing environmental strategies that create systemic change in the community
- Maximizing the power of partners and mobilizing more talent
- Serving as a central location to access relevant, community data
- Building capacity to create community solutions
COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULE:
When: 3rd Wednesday of each Month
Time: 4:00-5:00 pm
