Teen Advocacy Group Kick-Off Night Brings Teens, Families, and Community Partners Together.

Thanks to an incredible Kick-Off Night, our Teen Advocacy Group (TAG) is starting the 2025–2026 year with 23 teens already signed up!

Our guest speaker, Foster Huggins from Underwater Flyzone, shared an inspiring message about mental health and reminded our teens that “Your Life is Worth Living” and left a powerful reminder that they their lives have already touched more people than they realize. Afterwards our students created yard signs to carry that message out into the community.

Families and students connected with current TAG members and Lee’s Summit CARES staff while enjoying jumbo yard games, a live DJ, a 360 photo booth, an ice cream bar, and more.

We are so grateful for the support that made this night possible. A heartfelt thank-you goes to MCC–Longview, Belva Giesing, Susan Coffman, and LifeGoals Strategies for sponsoring this event and investing in the well-being of teens in our community.

Presented by Lee’s Summit CARES Teen Advocacy Group, this year’s TAG program is open to all teens and their families who want to learn more about civic engagement, leadership, and community.
