Just because this year’s Mental Health Awareness Month in May has come to an end doesn’t mean the conversations around mental health have to end too.

That is why Lee’s Summit CARES would like to highlight the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). SAMHSA is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation and to improve the lives of individuals living with mental and substance use disorders, and their families.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration released a Mental Health Awareness Month Toolkit that provides a one-stop shop for content and best practices for engaging in healthy discussions about mental health.
